Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoy the music, the visuals and the stories. If you want to know the story behind the song, including the lyrics, just click on the name of the song, and enjoy all of the spicy details!!!
NOTE--If you have a "Pop-Up Blocker", you'll have to turn it off to play the music. And if you want to repeat a song, just press the same play button, or the left pointing arrow key on the player.
So what's in the news?
I'm back in the studio recording the "Welcome To The Game" album, and most of my musical energies are focused there right now. The "Instrumental Mindscapes" project (see the CD single photo on the Photos Page) is on hold for now as I have a deadline to finish this one.
Recently, I was performing with "The Joshua Foxx Band" for about a year, took some time off from live performances, then I joined the "Snazzy Red Band" as drummer. Joshua Foxx is one of the hottest rock bands playing the southeastern U. S., and one of the most enduring too, with a powerful musical legacy dating back to 1973. This was my second stint with the band, having played drums for them some 20 years earlier too.
Snazzy Red is a southern classic power rock band with roots going back to the 70's as well! And when I tell you that a "Snazzy Red" concert is an "In Your Face", Power Rock event to behold, that's an understatement!
And you can see both editions of Joshua Foxx on the Photos Page. And be sure to check out the Songs Page where you can listen to our performance of "Elvis Is In The Building Tonight", a sizzling medley of three of "The King's" biggest hits of the 50's, recorded LIVE at a 2004 Joshua Foxx Concert.
This is going to be a "female themed" album for sure, featuring lots of power rock & roll, comedy and some "biting" commentary as well! Some of the songs are about women in general. And yes, a few them are about the lovely ladies of my past.
And if you're enjoying the material you're hearing now, I believe you'll like the album too.
Feel free to check out my sister site on my Host Network, Broadjam, and my MySpace site by clicking on the Links Page above. Both are quite different and unique from my website, and you will find some of the world's finest Independent Artists and their amazing music at each one.
Come back and visit again, as I'm always updating the site. And don't forget to sign the Guestbook!

I decided to release this live version of a Hit song by Bill Withers recorded at a 2004 sound check for a Joshua Foxx concert when I played drums with the band.
It was recorded at the same time as the "Elvis Tribute", also on site.
It's a pretty good overall production, lots of good performances by the players, (listed in the song credits), and superb dynamics! If you like it, be sure to check out Elvis too.
Enjoy!

The song features two incredible musicians, who also happen to be personal friends, Mr "Ron Ray" on guitar, and Ms "Penny Towers Wilbur" as Miss "MARLA" (see the March 9th, 2009, and November 23rd, 2008 News Releases on this page!

While the fully vocalized version has been out for over 3 years now, I finally decided to release an instrumental edition.
After you hear it, be sure to check out it's companion, "The Truth About Women". It's a humorous look at women and their interaction with men during that "special" time of the month.
And read the "Story Behind the Song" by clicking on the name of the song, it's funny, and will give you insight into how the idea for the song originated!
But beware, it's Hot n' Spicy!!! Ladies!

| Two Extraordinary Musicians Have Arrived!
|
Posted: Mar 17, 2009
|
Today, I have the honor, and privilege of introducing my close friend and musical buddy, Guitar Virtuoso, Mr. "Kevin Beckenstein", one of the absolute best I have ever played with.
And the one and only, Lead Guitarist, Lead Vocalist, Keyboardist, Harmonica Player, Hit Songwriter, and Multi-Platinum Artist, Mr. Grand Funk Railroad himself, "Mark Farner" on my Photos Page!!!
This picture was taken March 13, 2009 at the 5th annual "Rock & Pop Masters Concert" in Weston, FL, right outside of Miami. Mark Farner headlined an All-Star Cast of musicians that included Legends from the groups Ambrosia, Orleans, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, and Rainbow to name a few. Kevin said that Mark was at his most amazing best, the total musical package!
Kevin was the "Go-To" guy at the event, coordinating interaction with the event's organizers, promoters, equipment people, and most importantly, the "All-Star Performers". He also made sure all the instruments, amplifiers, microphones etc. the musicians requested, essential for the show to even go on, were acquired from multiple sources in a timely fashion.
And a thousand or two other details, many unanticipated that had to be dealt with and resolved on the fly. I think you get the idea what a monumental job that was. And he pulled it off. He was the "Dude" that stirred everyone's drink. And he's a "Master Guitarist" in his own right, believe me I know, from first-hand experience.
I only wish I could have been there! If you are in the vicinity next year, "Don't Miss It"!
Enough said! Go to my Photos Page and Check it out!! RIGHT NOW!!!

And stayed tuned for a song or two from the event!

I am pleased to announce that my good friend, Penny Towers Wilbur of Vermont has taken on the role of Marla in my song, "Madame Marla", a story about a gold-digging female who removes rich men from their wealth, told in a humorous fashion.
She did a fantastic job which finally completes this song. Check her out on-site, she's great! And wickedly evil!
Also featuring my close friend and master guitarist, Ron Ray on lead and lead rhythm guitars (see November 23, 2008 news release). And be sure to listen to him tear it apart on my song, "Midnight Rendezvous" on site, right here, right now! Enjoy!

| Introducing "MADAME MARLA", Featuring Mr. "Ron Ray" on guitar!
|

|
"Madame Marla" just completed final mix-down and mastering and has been released. "Marla" is a farcical look at a beautiful gold-digging woman that travels from one town to the next, relieving wealthy men of their riches. No, this one is not about me as I've never been rich enough to warrant attention from someone like her, but I've seen a number of women like her in action before.
This song features my best friend and guitarist extraordinaire, Mr."Ron Ray" on both lead and rhythm guitars. His guitar wizardry can also be heard on my song, "Midnight Rendezvous" right here on site, check it out too, he is a real guitar "Monster" on this tune. And in the near future, "Marla" is going to make a cameo performance on the song, so stay tuned! Enjoy.

Hello Friends
Yes, well it finally had to happen eventually, after two years of neglect, I finally decided to get my MySpace house in order.
I really used to think this was a real dull and boring place to be, but as a musician, it was mandatory that you have at least some "feeble" presence here, and that's about all I gave it, if that.
But you know, it's actually a pretty cool place to be now that I've actually spent some time here. Meeting some very talented artists as well, you can Friend them too!
You will find a huge contrast to my Website where you are resting now, thank you very much for being here in the first place. If you are reading this now, you should probably check it out.
Just go to my Links Page and it will take you right there, or you can copy and paste the address below into your web browser window. Thanks for coming.
All the best

"Midnight Rendezvous", featuring my best friend, and guitar wizard Mr. Ron Ray on both lead and rhythm lead guitars, has moved up in the charts.
This "blazing-hot", power-rock instrumental (which will be fully vocalized soon) has now captured the # 1 spot in the Broadjam South Carolina Top 10, and # 1 in the world-wide Modern Rock Top 10 as well. First time I've had one song atop two charts simultaneously since "Be My Lady" last December.
If anyone would like to see these charts, you can copy and paste the links below into your browser window, for as long as they remain in the charts anyway.
And if you like "power rock", and "ass-kicking guitar", listen to Ron's "blistering" guitar work as he tears it up for the entire second half of the song! Better strap up for this one. Enjoy.

2007 saw 4 new tunes arrive, loads of Top 10 charts, a bunch of new fans, and a lot of great song reviews from some of the best independent artists from around the globe.
2008 should see the completion of the "Welcome To The Game" album (finally), and the actual release is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2009.
In the meantime, the next song to be added to the roster should be online in late February or early March, that's when "Madame Marla" is coming to town, watch out for her guys!

This song is about an up and down, off and on romance of mine from some years past.
Click on the name of the song and read the story of this absolutely crazy relationship I was just too enamored with, and way too foolish not to run for my life, when all my gut instincts told me that her mind was engulfed in flames, and I was never going to be able to extinguish the blaze!
A truly torturous, "Roller Coaster" of a romance if ever there was one!

The name of the song is "Golden Rings & Wedding Bells", and it is a "Power Rock" male/female duet, recorded on-location.

The storyline is a humorous look at the male/female condition, told from the "single male" vantage point.

The instrumental version anyway, we are going to add the vocals later, but it has been suggested to me by several knowledgeable people that this song can stand alone without lyrics, so what the heck, here it is!
And I am proud to present to you, both on lead and rhythm guitars, Mr. Ron Ray!!!
He can be seen with me on the Photos page in the 1982 Joshua Foxx photo, towering in the background with his trade mark beard!
One of the very best guitarists I have ever performed with, Ron and I have played together in four different bands and we are best friends as well! I don't see him often, but I was fortunate enough to catch him on one of his rare visits, and I captured his "guitar wizdardry" for one "magical" evening in my studio.
And if you like "power rock", and "ass-kicking guitar", you are going to want to hear this one!!

Major Update To The "CHEATIN' LOVER" Song
Yes, another update. As some of you already know, "Take My Love and Throw It Away" has changed identities. One of my fans suggested that instead of using the first line of the chorus for the song's title, the last line of the chorus would make a much more powerful and compelling title for this song.
And boy was she right on target, how did I miss that one!! The new name is "Take Your Dagger & Bloody My Heart". Much more effective title, don't you think? Thank you Serenity, you are a real sweetie (good looking too I might add, thank you for the lovely photograph).
But I had also been thinking of making some major changes to the song itself for some time, (the vocals, instrumentation, and the song structure), so I figured this would be the best time to do it.
For all of you that have already bought the song, I'll be glad to send you a new copy for free. Just send me your email address and the date of purchase.

Back by popular demand.
This is a song from the "Instrumental Mindscapes" project that I had on the site for a brief time, but I took it off to give it a face-lift. I wanted to add some new instrumentation, but all my efforts of late have gone into "Welcome To The Game".
But over the past few months, I have received numerous e-mails requesting an encore performance. So I finally dusted it off and finished it.
The song is basically a "Note-Festival on Steroids". And yes, I have injected the beast with even more notes than before.
I could tell you that I originally wrote the song as an action-packed chase theme for TV and film (which is how I do intend to market the song), but the truth is, I just wanted to write a song that was fun to play, from a musicians standpoint, that is. And believe me when I tell you, it is a real blast to play, like riding a rocket.
So, if you are into Power Rock Instrumentals, you'll want to give this tune a listen.
Thanks for all the mail. I hope you like the new edition.

It is a medley of three of Elvis's biggest hits of the 50's--"Heartbreak Hotel", "Jailhouse Rock", & "Hound Dog".
It was recorded live during a sound check a few hours before we took the stage for a "Joshua Foxx Concert" in 2004. And it never failed to bring the proverbial "House Down"! The King still "Rocks" to this day!

Ladies and Gentlemen (drum roll please)--This is the official launch of my website, jcameronsmith.com. However, there doesn't seem to be any ladies around, or gentlemen for that fact since I wouldn't qualify for that title. IS ANYBODY OUT THERE??? Probably not as yet.
And it might not be such a great idea to be talking to yourself on the Internet, so I'll just send a message to a lovely young lady I know who is about to become the only other human being in the known universe that will be aware of my website for now (that is once I email her with the address).
Greetings to "The Hot Blond Down The Street", and my companion for the 50th Annual Beaufort Water Festival, the gorgeous (and wonderfully proportioned) Miss Sally G.
Looking forward to your company at the opening ceremonies, our 2nd fireworks display in as many weeks.
